This 233-550g cover can be used as a substitute for the original 233-440 cover.
IMPORTANT NOTE: On some of these older reels, we have found that the threading may be tight on either the housing cover or the housing. It may have to be forced or cross threaded in order to fit. On most reels, it fits perfectly. There is no way to tell in advance which will occur. Again, this only applies to these four older models.
ADDED NOTE: To install on older reels, we recommend use of bull nosed pliers and duct tape to cover the 233-550g so that it won't be damaged by the pliers.
