NOTE:
On older reels, such as the 500S and 501 for example, the spring was peened into place in the factory rather than held in with a screw like the newer version reels. In some cases, you can replace side plates with a newer plate that has the spring/screw system. In others, only the older style side plates are available with the fixed in place clicker system.
