Fred took a new in box old 155 reel and powder coated it in Candy Green Metallic. This one was meant for Scott @ Scott's Bait & Tackle, but unfortunately Fred chose Mo's favorite color and she scooped it up! (I might let Scott fish with it sometimes *grin*)
Fred coats a lot of reels to help save them from any corrosion or oxidation. The coated parts will never corrode again!
This finish is baked on and is harder than chrome. You can take your thumbnail and try to scratch anywhere on the reel that is powder coated - you can't scratch it! It's the same coating that is on your oven and that's hard.
He can powder coat anything that is made of metal on a reel. Premium colors can be done on clean/new looking metal parts (like my Candy Green sparkly finish). Scratched up parts he would use solid colors. Prefers to work on Penn reels. The charge for coating is approx. $30. If reel needs repair, that would be additional.
